Following the approval of four local environmental projects by the Mangroves for the Future (MFF) secretariat, training is now taking place to help stakeholders develop their proposals before they compete for funds.

A two-day project design workshop led by Timothy Greenhow, the MFF’s adviser from the Swedish Institution for Public Administration, started yesterday at the Seychelles Fishing Authority’s training room.

Project to recycle waste glass launched

A new project to collect waste glass such as bottles and jars, and put it to good use in building work, has been was launched.

The project by non-governmental organization Sustainability for Seychelles aims to divert glass waste from landfill sites and recycle it. Project coordinator Iris Carolus met its key partners – the Landscape and Waste Management Agency, the Environment Department, STAR, the Seychelles Hospitality and Tourism Association, United Concrete Products Seychelles and the Ecotourism Society of Seychelles – to brief them.
